An Art Glass Tradition
Thinking of updating the interior of your home and like the look of stained glass work or art glass? If so then, Stanford Art Glass Studio, located in Menomonee Falls is your answer.
The Menomonee Falls company has been a fixture there for 30 years! Owners Karen Sundquist and Ann Bucheger obtained the business in
1997 when the then, current owner
was about to close its doors forever. Their interest in art glass, stemming from high school, gave them the motivation to continue the Art Glass tradition.
Stanford offers a unique service in that you can purchase items there for retail or you can take classes and make your own item in their studio located in the back of the store.
Classes are offered on a non-stop basis. There are classes for beginners as well as advanced. Class size is limited to eight since individual attention is Stanford’s goal.
If classes or the making of your own piece does not interest you then you’ll be glad to know you can stop by and simply make a purchase. Most items sold there are also made there following the Tiffany method of producing fine works of art. Each piece of glass is hand cut, ground on a diamond wheel, wrapped in copper foil and soldered together. The beautiful Tiffany style lamps
make the most immediate impression on a visitor
Karen and Ann also make window pieces, wall pieces with mirrors, cabinet doors and side light door panels, (made to order), wedding frames and boxes, kaleidoscopes, jewelry boxes, candle holders, sun catchers, ornaments and many other items.
Stanford Art Glass Studio really is a unique place carrying on the art glass tradition. Stop by or give them a call. They would be glad to help!
